Olympics

Monday, August 25th, 2008

The Summer Olympics are now history.  I personally enjoyed the past two weeks.  Normally, summer is very dull when it comes to TV.   The Olympics gave me something different to watch.  Of course, highlights include Michael Phelps, USA Men’s basketball team winning gold, the USA Women’s softball team losing, and 41-year-old Dara Torres missing gold by one-hundredth of a second.   Some people tuned out after Aquaman won his 8 gold medals.  I did not.  Watched beach volleyball.   Did you notice that Kerri Walsh had a wedgie the entire Olympics?   Oh, I was also proud of the women’s soccer team for winning gold.  Incredible considering they lost their star just weeks before the games.   Vancouver is the next stop for the Winter Olympics in two years.   I’ve been to that town and can’t wait to see it.   Thanks for reading my blog and I’ll look for you tomorrow on the radio.

REDNECK PARTY

Friday, August 15th, 2008

No body throws a party like Nancy Mule.  She’s an award winning account executive from the third floor.  She also sits in for Kimberly when she is absent on The Breakfast Buzz.   Nancy is a great lady and is one of my favorite people in the building.

Saturday night Nancy and her boyfriend are throwing a redneck party.   Dress in character, show up, and have a good time.   Yes we’ll have pictures so look for them next week at www.thebreakfastbuzz.com   Can’t wait to see some of the costumes.   Now, go find your own party and have a memorable weekend.   Thanks for taking time to read this and for your feedback.   I’ll see ya on the Breakfast Buzz.

HOME DECORATING

Friday, August 15th, 2008

I’m going on my third anniversary in my Fairport home.   Following my divorce, I purchased this three bedroom, 2.5 bath home.   I love it but have not done a thing to it.  Oh, I did put in a new Maytag dishwasher this past spring.

When I attended the home show, I ran into Shery Merkle, owner of Lindsey Interiors.   She offered to help me re-invent my home.   Fresh paint to brighten up the place, out with the old lights and in with the recessed lighting.   Plus, some new carpet.   All under budget.   She’s incredible and I’d be happy to recommend her for any project, large or small.  She has a great sense of style and a very hard worker.

I’d also like to recommend Tim Andrews from Andrews Electric in Hilton.   He did the electrical work.  Quick, efficient and very reasonable.  Tim Andrews for your electrical needs.

Steve Z. did my painting.   I got three estimates and the prices really varied.    Please, if you’re thinking about getting some painting done, get at least three estimates.  It really varied in price for the same amount of work.

Please, save your emails telling me to paint myself. Just like I wouldn’t expect a plumber or painter to come host The Breakfast Buzz, I’m not going to attempt to paint my house.   I leave that to the professionals.

Thanks for reading my blog and I’ll see ya tomorrow on the radio!
